The Weald School Association is our version of the usual parent-teacher organisation and it is also a registered charity (number 1027234). This is vital because it means we are in a much better position to apply for grants and to schemes that will match the funds we raise for big projects. We also can take advantage of the Government's Gift Aid scheme to maximise the money we raise. For more details on how to ensure we get the tax back on any money you give to us go to What you can do.
We aim to support The Weald School by coming up with funds for projects and providing resources and facilities that other wise the school and the students would have to do without.
At the same time, it's a way of getting involved in the life of the school, and of bringing together parents and carers. Especially when you find that there turns out to be a big gap left by the transition to secondary school from the close-knit community of the primary school playground. |
